Tuensang, December 14 (MExN): Joining hands with the rest of the states, the District PMMVY Cell Tuensang commemorated MatruVandana Saptah-2019 under the theme “Towards building a healthy Nation” – Surakshit, Viksit Dharini which was kicked off on December 2 at District Civil Hospital, Tuensang.
The District PMMVY Cell targeted pregnant and lactating mothers with poster campaign, distribution of flyers and awareness at the district hospital and at all health centres in the town.
At Sangsangnyu, awareness was given at Anganwadi centre to mothers and the general public on health and nutrition and benefits available under PMMVY.
On December 4, the PMMVY district cells conducted orientation programme for monitoring an assessment for the best performing block and field functionary.
On December5, the district team participated at the Marathon organized by the Sakhi-One Stop Centre at district head quarters.
Altogether 78 people participated in the marathon and awareness on health was given by district coordinator PMMVY and fliers distributed among the participants.
Spot registration of beneficiaries were done during the events conducted at Noksen, Shamator, Thonoknyu and Sangsangnyu in collaboration with Poshan Abhiyaan.
The District team also visited the Primary Health Centre at Longpang village and an awareness programme was conducted at the hospital. A coordination meeting was also held with the staff of the hospital in regards to JSY and MCP card details.
The weeklong celebration concluded with felicitation programme for the best performing block and field functionary at DPO (ICDS) office, Tuensang. The best performing block was awarded to Noksen block and best functionary was awarded to Lokhung AWC ‘A’.
