Mon, August 14 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Mon Thavaseelan K, IAS held a meeting with all the political parties of Mon District on August 13 at DC Conference Hall, Mon.

 

EVP from Sept 1 to 30
During the meeting, a DIPR report said, the DC stated that Electors Verification Programme (EVP) is a campaign mode programme in which the citizens are encouraged to come forward and authenticate existing elector’s details along with their family members. DC informed the political parties that Electors Verification Programme (EVP) is scheduled from September 1 to 30, 2019 as per the ECI notification.


DC explained in detail the various method of verifications and facilitation centres such as National Voters Service Portal (NVSP): Voters Helpline Mobile App: 1950 call centre (for Senior Citizens and PwD) which has been set up in Election Branch, DC office: and through Booth Level Officer (BLO). DC mentioned that it will be available in all Assistant Election Registration Officer Offices in all the nine Constituencies and also in Common Service Centres.

 

Verify electoral details online 


DC mentioned that the citizens can verify their electoral details through NVPS Portal, ‘Voter Helpline’ Mobile app or submitting a hard copy of filled up forms through BLOs to EROs by giving supporting document of one of the following; Indian Passport, Driving License, Aadhaar, Ration card and any other documents as approved by the Election Commission. DC also added that, Elector can search his family detail with EPIC number on NVSP, Mobile App & Helpline and then tagging them together as family.


Further, DC requested all the political parties to appoint the Booth Level Assistant (BLA) in all the polling stations under Mon District and submit it.


Additional Deputy Commissioner & Electoral Registration Officer, Mon, Hiazu Meru, requested the political parties to disseminate the information to the citizens on Electors Verifications Programme and asked them to reach out to all the qualified voters in the district. ERO also requested the political parties to update themselves in the use of information technology.
