Power blackout in Dimapur

No cause for worry   Morung Express News Dimapur | January 15   A power blackout erupted in Dimapur today after a fire incident at the local power station. Dimapur saw a power blackout on Monday from 12.15 pm to 6:30 pm after a control panel located near Pilgrims School in Nagarjan caught fire around noon. Technicians started work on it immediately by shutting down all feeders (in and out) of the power grid. By 6:30 pm, the power station opened up new lines to ensure smooth electric supply to Dimapur.   Citizens have no reason to panic. “We have opened up the Imphal feeder to supply power to Dimapur,” informed Nagarjan power station in-charge, P Borah. While the immediate problem will be fixed by Monday midnight, said Borah, “there will be no blackout in Dimapur.” He assured that normal supply through the existing power grid will also be restored soon enough.
