Powwow 2018: Inter-college youth fest

Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): Tetso College kicked off its 3rd Powwow 2018: Inter-college Youth Fest on March 2 with a total of a total of 22 participating colleges.  

Hekani Jakhalu, Founder of YouthNet, inaugurated the event as the guest of honour. She administered the oath for the participants and gave a brief but powerful message about the advantages of youth to be at the right stage where youth are not too young to be incapable of making a difference, and not too old to be burdened with responsibility either.  

Kvulo Lorin, Director- Administration, welcomed all the participating colleges encouraging them to use Powwow 2018 as a platform to form stronger bonds, reconnect and learn from one another in the true spirit of sportsmanship and respect.  

Dr P.S. Lorin, Founder and Principal Tetso College, also launched the Tetso Library, officially announcing it open to all public in an effort to encourage reading not only amongst students but children, parents, elders and anyone from around the community and Nagaland to use its reading resources. Tetso Library is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  

A press release received here stated that a number of sponsors helped make this event happen, namely Indian Entrepreneurship Foundation (IEF), Youthnet, Hidesign, Universal Power Solutions, Kapraa Kohima, GSports, Sports Lifestyle, King Sports, Brand new day, 96 Innovations, Breeze, Baskin Robbins and Fun Cinemas.  

The highlights of day 1 included basketball, badminton, volleyball for the sports and Extempore and Stand Up Comedy competitions and in the online gaming, Mobile Legends knock out rounds began today. Results are updated on the college Facebook page and college website.  

‘Selfie Challenge with a Purpose’ also began on instagram, open for all till March 7, 9:00AM.
