Peren, May 16 (MExN): The Ahthibung Region Club in collaboration with DHS Peren, Veterinary College, Jalukie and Assam Rifles, Ahthibung conducted a pre-monsoon medical and veterinary camp in Vongkithem village on May 14.
A press release from Henpu Kuki, Vice Chairman ARC stated that the camp was held to counter and take precautions before monsoon hits the region to prevent human and animal losses due to extreme weather conditions and in lack of timely medical help.
This year a team of doctors from DHS Peren and AR conducted the medical camp where 210 patients were treated and local medical staffs (ASHAs and village health chairman) were sensitized for handling any eventuality during monsoons. Additional stock of basic medicines was given to them.
Taking this opportunity, the Veterinary College Jalukie also organized a veterinary camp and treated 67 pets. De-worming kits were also distributed to the villagers.
