KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 11 (MExN): As preparatory to the upcoming colloquium on ‘Road Connectivity in Nagaland’ a meeting of all stakeholders associated with road construction was held at conference hall, CMO, Civil Secretariat today.
A press release from CMO media cell informed that resource persons from Department of Roads & Bridges, PWD (NH), BRO, Mechanical Engineering and other private players gave their respective slide show presentations on the status, length and costs of ongoing projects in the State.
Subjects on inter-state connectivity, central fund, DoNER, NABARD and NEC Schemes, PMGSY projects, four-laning, bypass road construction, road safety work, annual plans etc were delved in detail.
During the gathering, Chief Minister TR Zeliang encouraged the road builders to cooperate with the government which is committed to good governance, transparency, accountability and all-round development, the press release stated.
He said such frequent meetings of stakeholders have evolved a common platform where all can discuss on issues related to road development and create better understanding.
The Chief Minister also informed that today it is not only the BRO that is engaged in road construction in Nagaland but many other national private players are also involved with major chunks of projects which common people are seldom aware.
The seminar on road connectivity scheduled in the last week of September, 2017 is expected to be attended by different sections of civil societies besides government departments.
