PSU golden jubilee celebration underway

The golden jubilee celebration of Philimi Students' Union (PSU) got underway at Philimi village on Tuesday.


Special Guest of the jubilee, Principal, DIET Zunheboto, Yevito Chisho unveiled the monolith in the premises of PSU Library Hall and dedicated by PBC Pastor, Vikhashe Kiho.


Speaker on the first day of the programme was retired joint director, School Education, Vikuto Wotsa who spoke on the motto of PSU – “Brighten every Corner.” He encouraged leaders of Philimi be it in secular or spiritual field to spread positive leadership and work for progress of the society. He urged Philimi community not to let pride fill within them but to pray for more leaders.


“We all want good things in life but don't live life accordingly. In all things, you must first know God,” he told the students. Vikuto also urged the students to respect their parents and judiciously utilize the hard earned money of their parents. He told the students to take advantage of technology in a positive manner.


Philimi GB, Nihoto Swu also exhorted the gathering during the programme. Philimi Students' Union Dimapur performed the opening ceremony act. During the programme, Rev Thilihe Yeptho released the jubilee souvenir. Earlier, a minute's silence was observed remembering those who worked for PSU and were no more living.
