PHEK, SEPTEMBER 9 (MExN): The Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) along with 11 colony youth presidents and volunteers conducted a seminar cum first aid training organized by the District Hospital Phek on September 8 at the District Hospital premises.
During the session, Dr Ngopelo, Physician elucidated on how to act in response to resuscitation, bleeding and wounds, bites and stings, burns, poisoning, etc. He cited that it only consists of giving temporary assistance until competent medical care if needed is obtained. He also advised people to be watchful while applying first aid to an injured person because it may mean the difference between life and death or rapid recovery or long hospitalization, and demonstrated on basic first aid instruction.
Dr. Senilo Tep, Psychiatrist, emphasized on give aid to bone fractures and dislocation victims. Dr. Wethselo, Pediatrician meanwhile informed that the district hospital is open 24×7 for emergency service and the staff are trying to give best services to the public. He meanwhile requested the youth to continue supporting the ground management during emergencies.
Earlier, Dr Tiala Longkumer delivered the welcome note and Suyiengoyi Soho, Vice president of PTYS pronounced the vote of thanks.
