The District Level Social Audit Public Hearing under MGNREGA Dimapur district was held at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur on Wednesday. The public hearing was held for seven villages namely, Suhoi and S. Hotovi village under Kuhuboto block; Tseipama village, Medziphema village and Paglapahar village under Medziphema block; Sangtamtilla village under Dhansiripar block and Nikhekhu village under Niuland block.
Altogether seven resource persons from the Social Audit Unit (SAU) from State Institute of Rural Development who conducted social audits at various villages presented their findings during the public hearing. They said certain discrepancies were found in the implementation of the MGNREGA but those issues were resolved at the village level itself. The VDB secretaries also presented their reports and read out their respective village resolution. The audit was done for financial year 2014-15. State Resource Person of the SAU, Imlirenla Sanglir expressed satisfaction with the reports presented by the resource persons and VDB secretaries.
The public hearing which was chaired by Project Director, DRDA Dimapur, H. Atokhe Aye concluded with a resolution to strictly adhere to implement the MGNREGA programme according to the guidelines.
The public hearing was also attended by SDO (S), Nyempo Wallim as an Observer from the district administration.
