Pughoboto Mini Secretariat road inaugurated

Minister for PWD (National Highways), Y Vikheho Swu today inaugurated the newly constructed road leading to the ongoing construction site of Pughoboto Mini Secretariat through Mishilimi village under Zunheboto district.  

Swu formally opened the road and dedicated it for the prosperity of the people of Pughoboto sub-division. Addressing the formal function at Mishilimi ground, the Minister said the state government is committed to provide better road connectivity for better development. He added that the state government through central funding is initiating several new road projects throughout the state.  

The Minister also highlighted the various developmental activities taken up during the last five years in the sub-division, including Piggery, Green Pughoboto plantation drive and skill development projects under which animals, trees, agricultural tools and machineries etc were extended for the economic uplift of the sub-division.  

Acknowledging the pioneers of the sub-division for their vision for uplift of the sub-division, Swu expressed confidence that Pughoboto can move towards progress and development and also elevate its present status.  

Superintendent Engineer PWD (R&B) Zunheboto, Senti Jamir presenting technical report said the road construction was taken up under “Non-Development” amounting to Rs. 90 lakh during the current financial year 2017-18.  

The total length of the project is 1.9 KM while the items of the works includes Scrubbing of grass brush wood, Sapling of girth, Earth Works in excavation, Construction of unlined side drains, Providing GSB Gr-I, WBM Gr-II & III and Bituminous work, as per schedule of rate NPWD (Road) 2016, he said.  

Marking the occasion, short speeches were delivered by VCC Mishilimi Aloto Wotsa, GB Mishilimi Akhalu Sheqi, President NPF Pughoboto Division Kughakhu Sheqi and ADC Pughoboto Avelu Ruho.
