PVC informs on termination of GB

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 19 (MExN): The Phor Village Council in Phek district has written to the Deputy Commissioner of Phek informing the “termination” of the present GB of Phor village from his post.

In a representation to the Phek DC, dated August 29 and issued to the media today, the Phor Village Council accused the GB of “demolishing the public property of Nagaland State Transport ticket counter at Phor village without prior permission from any authority.” It informed that the council held a meeting on March 23 and the house pronounced that “as a public leader, instead of protecting the safeguard of public property,” the GB “committed a crime” and “hence should be disqualified from the post of Gaon Bura.”

The council informed that the GB asked for more time to resign, and the house adopted a resolution that the GB must resign from his post within 5 months with effect from March 27.  The council said that while 5 months have passed, it is yet to receive the resignation letter. As such, the council informed the DC that the individual has been disqualified and terminated from his post as GB with immediate effect.
