Railways cancel trains over sinking tracks

Maligaon, September 12 (MExN): Sinking tracks has forced the North East Frontier Railways to cancel four trains.


A portion of railway track (about 100 metres) between Lamsakhang – Habaipur near Lumding sank on September 9 resulting in restricted speed of trains on the section for passenger safety.


As most of the long-distance trains running over the section (from Dibrugarh, Agartala and Silchar) have to be run at restricted speed, it has become imperative to cancel or short-terminate a few trains to clear path, a press release from the NFR informed.
