Raj Bhavan, Kohima lit up with diyas and lights on the occasion of Diwali on October 19.
Kohima, October 19 (MExN): Raj Bhavan in Kohima was all decked up with multi coloured lights and diyas on October 19 in celebration of Diwali.
The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya and his wife, Kavita Acharya celebrated Diwali with Raj Bhavan officers and staff and their families and security personnel who are deployed for security arrangements at Raj Bhavan, informed a press release.
The Governor and his wife extended Diwali greetings and distributed sweets and interacted with the children. They also wished all a joyous and prosperous life.
Diwali or Deepavali is one of the most popular festivals celebrated by Hindus and other communities across the world. The festival represents the victory of light over darkness and thus is also called the 'festival of lights'.
