Ranji trophy: Nagaland struggles against Sikkim

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 13 (MExN): In the ongoing Ranji trophy match at NCA stadium, Sovima, Nagaland is staring its first ever defeat in First Class Cricket test match after registering its maiden win against Mizoram in the first outing.   By the end of day 2 of the match, Nagaland were trailing Sikkim by 98 runs at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium in Sovima.   On day 2, Sikkim managed to put up a score of 374 runs before being bowled out, with the top scorers being Milind at 224 and Bipur Sharm at 90.   For Nagaland, Pawan Suyal bagged 7 wickets, while Tahmeed Rahman and Imliwati took 1 and 1 wickets each.   Nagaland managed to score 97 runs however losing 5 wickets by stumps. KB Pawan remained unbeaten at 61 runs while captain Jonathan Rongsen scored 11 runs.   Ishwar and Bipur took 2 wickets each for Sikkim. The match is set to continue tomorrow.   Meanwhile in the Vijay Merchant (U-16) Trophy, Nagaland lost at Golaghat against Meghalaya by 38 runs today.   The Nagaland U-16 has won three matches and lost one with the last match at Abhaypuri against Manipur from November 18 to 20.
