Rastriya Poshan Maah observed at Jalukie

Dimapur, September 20 (MExN): A district level observation of Rastriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Mission) programme was organized by the Department Of Social Welfare, Peren on September 18 at Town Hall, Jalukie with Additional Deputy Commissioner Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang as guest speaker.

 

According to DIPR report, the ADC stressed on health care quoting ‘Health is Wealth,’ and appealed to all the Anganwadi workers for proper implementation of nutrition supplement provided by the concerned department.

 

Dr. M. Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO, RCH-UIP Peren emphasized on health and nutrition and highlighted the goals and objective of the programme, to reduce stunting under nutrition, causes of low weight birth, anaemia, pregnant women, lactating mother and requirement of good balance diet.

 

DPO/DWO, Peren, Nokcharenla Longchar briefed on department welfare scheme. Earlier, CDPO, Jalukie, Namhuheing in his keynote address said that Rastriya Poshan Maah was launched in March 2018 by the Prime Minister of India with an aim to improve nutrition at the highest level in the country. He also said that September 1-30 is observed as nutrition month to reach out to every household with ‘har ghar poshan tyohar’ (every house as celebration of nutrition).

 

The programme was chaired by Igwetzeule, Imapiele, who also invoked God’s blessing. Special song was presented by Anganwadi workers, Jalukie town. Peiranggumle proposed the vote of thanks, while Agaile pronounced the benediction. The programme was attended by public leaders, ward council members and Anganwadi workers and helpers.
