Outgoing Additional Director, Rural Development, Nolengol along with senior officers during the farewell programme held at RD conference hall, Kohima on March 14.
Kohima, March 14 (MExN): The Department of Rural Development bid farewell to its Additional Director, Nolengol Angami at RD conference hall here on March 14.
Nolengol Angami joined the department in 1983 as a Block Development Officer (BDO) and is retiring as Addl. Director after serving the department for almost 35 years, informed a press release received here.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary RD, Kelei Zeliang maintained that retirement is a normal process for any government servant; he however expressed happiness that Nolengol is retiring in good health. He called upon the officers and staffs of the department to emulate and imitate the good character and behavior he has exhibited during his career as a government servant.
Terming Nolengol as a true definition of simplicity in thoughts and action, Director RD, Imlimeren Jamir said, “Your humbleness, humility and memories you leave behind will always be cherished in our mind.”
Speaking on behalf of the NRDSA, K. Neibou Sekhose, Jt. Director reminisced on the past memories and praised the officer for his gentle approach and soft spoken nature in tackling any crisis. “With your guidance, we learned to function as a team and your sincerity and high dedication will be felt deeply by one and all,” he stated, while assuring to emulate and uphold the retiring officer’s ideas and principles.
Nolengol meanwhile said that the best part of his life was spent with the department and its employees. He expressed pride and gratitude for the strong support system the department had been during his good and bad times.
