During my tenure (2003 to 2007) as the President of Zeliangrong Baudi, I, on behalf of my people have recommended for recognition of Rongmei tribe. Our motive was to bring back all our land and people which were divided by the Britishers. We acknowledge the fact that speaking alone for Rongmei tribe recognition issue has led to misunderstanding among our fellow Naga brothers. But we cannot afford to misunderstand one another in this matter as it is for the benefits of all Nagas. Wish to clarify to all that we want all the Naga tribes wherever they are to be amalgamated under one administration for this is what has been honorably agreed by the GOI in the 9 Points Agreement of 1947. Therefore, it is our prayer that we should all join hands and ask the GOI to fulfill the honorable agreement. So that, all Naga tribes will come under one administrative unit, that is Nagaland. I also humbly appeal to the state Govt to lead us the way.
