Rescheduling of AI flight

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 29 (MExN):
The Station Manager Air India Ltd Dimapur has informed that due to operational reason departure time of AI9752 for August 30 (Dimapur/Gauhati) has been revised to 1105 hrs. Hence all joining passengers of AI 9752 are requested to report for check-in at Dimapur Airport at 0935 hrs.

CTA appeals

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 29 (MExN): 
The Chumukedima Timber Association, Tree planters, and Wood Base industries has stated that for the last one year timber and finished timber goods (moulded beat/frames) has not been allowed for dispatch outside the state without any reason. A press note appended by Kiviho Zhimomi, president, Balai Sogotsu, general secretary and H.Ghoyishe Sumi, secretary information & publicity, CTA appealed to the Special Investigation Team, New Delhi and the State Government of Nagaland to look into the matter immediately to allow small scale industries and tree planters for exporting tree farming products and finished goods outside the state by train. CTA also stated that this appeal is made considering the hardship faced by the tree planters and small scale industries in particular and wood based industries in general.

DC Peren informs

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 29 (MExN):
The Deputy Commissioner of Peren and District Election Officer of Peren Khrienuo C Metha has informed the voters of 6-Tening and 7-Peren A/C's under Peren district that door to door physical verification of Photo Electoral Roll (PER) as photographed during 1st and 2nd phase of photography operation campaign 2011 will be carried out in all polling stations by the team of verification committee headed by the Area Administrative officers with concerned Polling Station's BLO/head GB/ VCC/DB and BLA of recognized political parties from August 30 to September 8. Therefore, voters in concerned polling stations are directed to make themselves available on the date of verification period in order to ensuing fidelity of the photo electoral roll defect free of the district.All BLOs are once again directed to tie up with respective area administrative and supervisory officers to carry out the task successfully, informed the DC in a press note.

24 AR apprehends two

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): The 24th Assam Rifle while conducting motor vehicle check post (MVCP) at general area Burma Camp, Dimapur on August 29 at 6:30 am intercepted one Kohima bound maruti alto vehicle bearing registration No NL-07-3651 carrying 27 cases of assorted contraband liquor.
In this connection, two persons Asheto Kiba (30) S/o Lahovi Sema and Inashe Chishi S/o Zuhovi Chishi of Atuizo, Zunheboto were arrested and handed over to the office of Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Dimapur later along with the seized articles for further investigation.
Basing on the report of the Investigation Officer, the accused persons were penalized as per the relevant sections of the NLTP Act 1989 and the contraband items confiscated and deposited in the Excise Malkhana.
In this regard, the Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Dimapur Pitongse Sangtam in a press release appreciated the vigilant action of the 24 Assam Rifles in helping the Excise department in containing free flow of contraband liquor in the state and also for handing over the case to the concern department for persecution.

Khole to visit GPRN/NSCN Konyak Region

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): ‘Gen.(Retd)’ Khole Konyak, president of GPRN, and Chairman, NSCN, is scheduled to visit the Oking at Konyak Region very shortly.
A press note from the chairman of Konyak Region, "GPRN/NSCN", B.T Toklang Konyak has informed the national workers under Konyak Region, both civil and military,  to report to his office at Oking at the earliest time possible.
A number of important issues are likely to be discussed and clarified in the interest of the Naga nation. Interaction with Konyak Elders,NGO's and Civil Societies will also take place. The undersigned requests for prayer support and co-peration from all National workers and general public for the proposed visit, the note said.

REUU appeals power dept

Kohima, August 29 (MExN): The Rengma Educated Unemployed Union (REUU) appealed to the power department for restoration of power supply in Tseminyu Town which has affected some area of the town due to the transformer breakdown since last for weeks.
The Union recalled that the same transformer was repaired and was functioning for about two and half months only. It wonders how the departmental were handling the machinery resulting frequent transformer breakdown which was repaired at the expense of the public.
“It is a matter of concern that the departments are still complacent without considering the suffering of the public. In the light of the above the authority is once again remind to take up immediate measure for early restoration of the power supply to the affected area. Before the public patience runs out in an adverse situation. The present transformer capacity which is too small to fit the needs of the consumer requires upgradation with stronger KVA power,” The union said.
The REUU further appealed the department to send more staff to the sub division so that the public grievance can be addressed with efficient service.
At present only two staff are mending the entire sub division of Tseminyu, the Union said.
The Union cautioned that the department that in case of further delay in fulfilling the demand of the public, it will take its own course of action which will be held responsible by the department itself.

Alumni meet of Kohima College Kohima held

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): An Alumni meeting of Kohima College Kohima was held today at the college, chaired by Coordinator of Alumni Committee Abeni Zuchamo.
A press note stated that the principal of Kohima College Kohima C Khalong Ao delivered the keynote address, wherein he underlined the need to form the Alumni Association for assessment and accreditation of the college under National Assessment & Accreditation Council of India. He also briefly highlighted the recent academic achievements, installation of CCTV and biometric attendance monitoring system, which is expected to greatly increase the efficiency of both the students and the lecturers.
Rovilatuo Mor, NCS Deputy Commissioner Wokha and Neiba Newmai, NPS Suptd. of Police (Crime) in their short speeches reminiscenced the college days that had shaped and moulded their career of what they are today and thousands of others. T Miachieo, HoD, Economics, Kohima College Kohima recalled the establishment of Kohima college on 9th August 1967 through the initiative of Dr. Neilhouzü Kire, Dr. Satuo Sekhose, Vibeilie Solo and Vilalhoulie Belho. Other Alumnus also shared their experiences and assured to help the College in all possible way, it stated.
The note also mentioned that following the meeting, the Alumni Association, Kohima College Kohima was formed and the following office bearers were elected: Neingulo Krome as president, Neilezo Tep as vice-president, Nino Iralu  as general secretary, Kenei Peseyie as asst. general secy, Eunice Alinger  as treasurer and Asenla Temsu, Neiba Newmai and Rovilato Mor as advisors.
