Meeting rescheduled

Kohima, April 19 (DIPR):
A meeting convened by the District Officer and Returning Officer Mokokchung with recognised National/State Political parties, contesting candidates and election agents of 26 Aonglenden A/C on April 22, has been rescheduled to April 21. The meeting will start from 10:00 am at the DC’s Conference Hall.  Returning Officer Lithrongla G. Chishi said the meeting has been rescheduled as April 22 is coinciding with Good Friday. She informed all concern to note of the change of date and time of the meeting and make it convenient to attend the meeting positively.

Chief Secretary notifies

Kohima, April 19 (DIPR):
The Chief Secretary, Nagaland Lalthara in a circular has notified that there will be a meeting of All Administrative Heads and Heads of Department on April 21, 1:00 pm in the Secretariat Conference Hall to discuss the following agendas:  The working plan discussion for Annual Plan 2011-12, collection of information relating to welfare of minorities and any other agendas with the permission of the Chair. Therefore, all AHODs and HODs are requested at attend the meeting.

YAN joint meeting held

Dimapur, April 19 (MExN):
The Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) at its joint meeting on April 16 had thorough discussions concerning grievances faced by the youth in Dimapur district. The presidents, general secretaries, representatives from the colonies/sectors were present at the meeting.  Après note received here stated that at the meeting it was resolved that the Dimapur District Youth Coordination Committee (DDYCC) to coordinate with all the colonies/sectors youth organisation for peace and unity and also to discourage youth from involving in anti-social practices for the betterment of the society. The DDYCC members are Maongkaba Longkumer, president of Imkonglenden Youth Organisation as convenor, Neisevonuo Solo, general secretary of Youth Organisation Northern Angami Colony Walford as co-covenor, Aneiba Thou, general secretary of Nagarjan Youth Club as secretary and the presidents, general secretaries of colonies/ sectors youth organizations.

NNC Angami region responds

Kohima, April 19 (MExN):
  Apropos to the news item “Angami Regional Council, NNC condemns”, which appeared in local dailies, a rejoinder was issued by Zapu and Sanguto Chase members of NNC stating that according to the report, for persons claiming themselves to be officials of the Angami Regional council, NNC have condemned Kiumukam Yimchungrü, the vice president of NNC, for using intemperate language such as “not a leader but a hooligan, who do not know the Naga National politics”, etc stated the rejoinder. It also stated: “…this cannot condone Kiumukam Yinchungrü as a respected Naga leader owing to it, its members are constrained to issue this rejoinder and stating that Zhavilhu Tacü, Vidzeze Angami, Vimetel Sakhrie and Dusol Angami do not represent the Angami region and therefore they cannot speak on behalf of the Angamis.” Moreover, the note stated : “Mr. Chosel Angami and his team are the legally elected officials of the Angami Regional Council and no others can speak on behalf of the Angamis,” adding that four persons should explain their position before the Angamis whether they had made the statement on their own “volition or somebody has used them as a tool”.
