8 Western Angami A/C photography June 14-15

June 13 (MExN): The second round of the voters’ photo identity card will be taken on 14th and 15th June from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm at Daklane Panchayat hall, Kohima for polling station 11 and 12 respectively of the 8th Western Angami constituency. A press release issued by S.Ghunakha Swu, Chairman, Dakelane Panchayat stated that this has been initiated for those who failed to take their photographs held on 1st and 2nd June owing to time constrains. The chairman has requested all the concerned citizens take their photographs accordingly as this would be the last opportunity for the same, added the press note.

FGN mourns demise of member

Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): The FGN (Metha) mourns the demise of  “maj. (retd.)” Sizothie on June 12 at his native village Rüzaphema.   “Maj. (retd.) Sizothie joined Naga home guard in 1956 and he was jailed by the Indian armed forces for years. He however joined again Naga army after he was released from the jail of India, the aggressor and served the nation as a Naga army officer in the rank of major,” a note from FGN president “gen. (retd.)” Viyalie Metha stated today.
After Sizothie “retired from Naga army”, he served as a “leacy hoho member” of the Angami region until date, the note said.  The demise of Sizothie is a great loss “yet his true sacrificial service to the nation will remain alive in the history of our nation,” Metha stated. The FGN prays for  Peace to the departed soul and solace to the bereaved family members and relatives.

PTCSU, PAMA condemn

Kohima, June 13 (MExN): The Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) and Phek Area Mothers’ Association (PAMA) jointly condemned the killing of “pte’ Nuchizo Rhakho of NSCN by FGN (Non- Accordist) on June 4 at Hebron I colony, Phek, which they said is against the ‘Covenant of Reconciliation,” the journey of common hope.
The PTCSU and PAMA said that while yearning for peace and reconciliation in the spirit of forgive and forget of all the past bitter experiences, it called upon all the groups to honour the covenant, adding that “Bloodshed should be stopped.”
“It is a high time for the Nagas to live in peace and unity,” it said and appealed to all the right thinking citizen to condemn the killing.
This was stated in a joint release issued by PTCU president Kozote Akami and PAMA president Veshenelu H. Keyho.
 
First union assembly of KSU

June 13 (MExN):The first union assembly of Kyong students' union (KSU) 2011-2013 has been convened on June 28, 10 am at LTC Hall Wokha. Union assembly speaker, in a press release has requested all the affiliated units, sub ordinate bodies and former leaders to attend d assembly positively.
 
NNC Lotha Region supports

 
Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): The authority of NNC Lotha Region has extended support to the resolution adopted by NNC Yimchunger Region during the meeting held on June 2 at Tsasher Village whereby “Kiumukam and his associates who were not even primary members were rejected by his own people.” NNC Lotha Region stated this in a press release issued by Rapenthung Patton, president, Eshithung Enic, advisor, Yipenthung Maj General and Yilow Lotha, vice president.
The authority also appeals to all right thinking national workers to reject the same for bringing up the national issue into reality for Nagas bright future. “The associate members of Kiumukam who were deceived by terminated members from National worker and are trying in vain to demolish the birth right of Naga nation which is the highest asset for the Nagas and which is the highest gift by the almighty God. So let us march forward to promote and protect the greatest gift of God for the Naga nation,” the release further added.
 
Police arrest one; ganja seized

Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): Nagaland Armed Police (IR) personnel today said a cadre of the ‘NSCN (K)’ was arrested for illegal possession of firearms, on June 10 at Deluxe Point in Dimapur. One “ss capt” Mhabemo Jami of NSCN (K) of Yamhon village under Bhandari in Wokha district was found with one 7.65 pistol along with 6 live rounds.
In another case, Diphupar police found a Mini Tata loaded with about 1, 500 kilograms of contraband Ganja at Nihokhu village. A note from the office of the Dimapur Superintendent of Police said that information was received on June 12 that a vehicle (Mini Tata NL01A/7143) loaded with the illicit narcotic was coming towards Dimapur. Diphupar police rushed to the spot at Nihokhu village. However, the vehicle was found abandoned but loaded with 1, 500 kilograms of Ganja. The contraband was seized. The police are working to identify and locate the persons involved.
