Rengma Naga Students’ Union accepts President’s resignation

Diphu, August 6 (MExN): The Rengma Naga Students’ Union (RNSU), Karbi Anglong, in an emergency cabinet meeting on August 6 at Rengma Colony in Diphu, Karbi Anglong has decided to accept the resignation tendered by its President Phenpiga H. Rengma.  

“The Rengma Naga public resolved to promote him for the greater cause of Rengma Nagas of Assam,” a press release from the Union’s General Secretary, Thangshi J Rengma, informed. It also stated that “certain terms and conditions” were applied as “special consideration” in order to accept his resignation.  

The RNSU cabinet thanked Phenpiga H Rengma for his “relentless service” for the Rengma Nagas during his leadership since December 2012. “We wish him all round success and good health,” it added.  

Meanwhile, the committee has informed that Abi Rengma, the present Vice-President of RNSU, has been promoted to President in-charge until the next Union Assembly of the RNSU. In this regard, the Union has asked all mails and letters to be directed towards the President in-charge, RNSU.
