A request in Christ’s name

Rev L. Suohie Mhasi

Few of us who are original members of the Democratic Party of Nagaland with cock as the symbol who are alive by the grace of God have been honoured and immensely helped in different ways by the current Party of the NPF for which we are grateful to them. We praise God for them and are proud of them.

The crisis after crisis cropped up among them within several years is a very sad thing. It is a known fact that an elected post is a hard earned and costly paid post. So any disadvantage cannot be taken for granted and seeking better chance or position is natural and inevitable for every member or worker. In a crisis a Chief Minister is a Party leader alone cannot be responsible. Ambition is always the cause of a tug of war. So no one can be fully blamed and no one can be fully justified but all are responsible or victims of ambition. There is no human ethics in politics. A rival can become a co-worker if there is a benefit or a co-worker can become a rival in view of seeking a better chance.

We honour our current leaders such as Neiphiu Rio, Dr Shürhozelie and T.R Zeliang because they are our top leaders. There is a problem among them awaiting the decision of central election commission. But as a senior citizen I request in the name of Christ that the tussle is dropped honourably without the intervention of the Central Election Commission.
