DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 14 (MExN): The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) today demanded that the department heed to the association’s demands for requisitioning posts of SDOs and Junior Engineers to the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) for fair and transparent competition.
A press note from the CTAN informed that it had made several appeals to the department regarding this issue. As per the RTI reply from the PIO, Power Department, 9 SDOs are to be sent for direct recruitment whereas only 2 posts have been sent to NPSC so far as per the requisition letter from the Power Department, dated December 12, 2017, the CTAN informed.
The CTAN further mentioned that the Power Department has not maintained the ratio for direct recruitment and promotion i.e 60:40 for SDOs and 90:10 for JEs, which is as per the Engineering Service Rule. It therefore once again reminded the department to restrain any further promotions to SDOs and JEs until the ratio cited above has been achieved with effect of this press release.
The CTAN further asked for those remaining posts of SDOs and JEs to be sent for requisition before December 20, 2017 for the welfare of all and the smooth functioning of power department.
“With the expiry of the date, the department and contract appointees illegally occupying those posts shall be held fully responsible for any untoward incident, as we may go to the extent of stopping the power department from functioning,” the association warned.
