Resign as NPF President, NPF legislature party to Shurhozelie

DIMAPUR, JULY 19 (MExN): The NPF Legislature Party, which supports TR Zeliang, today issued a statement condemning the actions of Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu for what it said was “dictatorial and autocratic leadership” by expelling TR Zeliang from the party. It demanded that Dr Liezietsu resign from the post of NPF President immediately, while adding that the NPF Legislature Party will “take no cognizance of whatever actions he may take in the future.”

A statement from Tokheho Yepthomi, Spokesperson, NPF Legislature Party said that it has taken cognizance of Dr Shurhozelie’s actions and the central NPF party leaders. “He has repeatedly violated the NPF party constitution on a number of occasions without any reason, directly negating the laid down procedures in the party constitution,” it stated.

The party meanwhile congratulated TR Zeliang for being appointed as the CM again and appreciated the Governor for “upholding and defending the majesty of the Constitution of India…”

It further expressed gratefulness to the BJP for withdrawing support to the leadership of Dr Liezietsu and his 11 MLAs, while extending support to TR Zeliang. “The NPF Legislature Party reiterates its consistent stand of maintaining good relationship with respect and humility with the BJP even in the future and resolves to continue the DAN coalition along with the BJP party,” it added.
