Retaining wall collapses in Tuensang

Tuensang, August 13 (MExN): Owing to the monsoon rains, a retaining wall in the Middle Sector under High School B Ward of Tuensang Town collapsed causing damages to three households on August 10. 


The affected houses belong to Yangba of Yaongyimti Village, Khomong of Tuensang Village and Soyen of Yaongyimti Village, informed to a delayed DIPR report received here. 


The incident occurred around 6:30pm in the evening and the EAC (HQ) Tshelhi-u NCS  immediately rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation, it said.


The Personnel from the Civil Defence and Home Guards along with volunteers in the neighbors removed the debris, it said.


 The district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Mohammad Ali Shihab IAS also visited the site on August 11 and handed over relief under Tuensang District Disaster Management Authority (TDDMA) to the affected households, it added.
