‘Rhythms and Aromas of Northeast India’

Dimapur, December 5 (MExN): Assam-based ‘Eastern Beats Music Society’ – a pioneering cultural non-profit working for promotion of NE culture and establishment of new vistas with other countries, especially Asia – has announced the launch of its highly ambitious and Pan-Asian music project ‘Rhythms and Aromas of Northeast India’.


All the eight states of NE India have been clubbed into four groups. Nagaland and Assam is clubbed into Group 2 and the auditions will be held at Howey Jungle, by banks of River Chathe, Nihoto Eralibil Road, Dimapur, Nagaland on December 27. The auditions will be coordinated by eminent Naga musicians Guru Moa Subong and Guru Arenla Subong of the band Abiogenesis.


Bands from Nagaland are requested to apply for the auditions and get the chance to get selected for the further stages of the festival. Interested bands may apply by looking at the website for the festival: www.easternbeats.assam.org


The festival also brings together prominent music institutes and trade bodies like Musicians Institute (USA), Suzuki Music Instruments, Japan, Thomas Music Corporation (USA), Earthsync (Chennai), besides others.
