Peren, August 31 (MExN): Peren district RMSA Teachers’ has extended unflinching support to the cause taken up by the central forum of Nagaland RMSA Teachers’ Association 2016 for equal treatment to all centrally sponsored schemes.
“How can the teachers be demanded to go to work without salary for 5 months on top of that the step motherly treatment given by the state government to reduce our salary by 6315,” a release from Haisoliabe Ndang, Convener, RMSA Peren Unit resented.
“The Supreme Court has given an order that there should be equal pay for equal work. Are we backdoor appointees? Or is our service not to our own people?” the release further questioned and added that the RMSA teachers also underwent written and viva like other competitive exams.
“This maybe the first time in the history of Nagaland or even India that a government servant is forced to accept reduced salary with the threat that the consequences will be termination.” The release later urged the people to support their stance “at this point of time when we are suppressed by our own government.”
