Rongmei Scholars Association formed

New Delhi, June 3 (MExN): Rongmei Scholars Association (RSA) has been officially formed on June 2 with Delhi as the Head Office. The aim of the association is to provide academic platform, engage with issues pertaining to the welfare of the Rongmei people, and collaborate with research and academic institutions both within the country and abroad, informed a press release from the association.  

Its members comprise of research candidates pursuing M.Phil and above, scholars in research institutions and faculty in colleges and universities in India, the UK, and the USA.  

The release stated RSA shall be a non-profit organization and shall not have any political affiliation. It shall purely be an autonomous, academic, and research based organization. RSA will work to promote academic excellence; organize seminars, workshops, and conferences; and undertake research projects with other institutions and academic organizations, it said.  

With ‘Let Wisdom Guide’ as its motto, RSA’s logo has a book and a quill made of hornbill feather expressing the knowledge and wisdom acquired from scholarly endeavour that will guide and empower the Rongmei people.  

The election of RSA Executive Council was held on June 1 for 2018-2019. It will be headed by Dr. Aphun Kamei, Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics as the president.
