Rotary Club Kohima 15th installation held

The new team of Rotary Club Kohima (RCK) led by Arepla Shancho has affirmed to focus more humanitarian services and also take the club forward.  

Arepla said this in her address while taking over as the new president of RCK during the 15th installation of RCK by Past District Governor of RI District 3240, Chandu Agarwal at Hotel Japfu here yesterday.  

She said that the new team will carried forward activities in the club level strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning and increase the humanitarian service to promote Understanding peace enhance public images and awareness and to implement effective project.  

She said that RCK has received proposal from International Rotary Club for water supply project under Dimapur district, which would be carried out. She also said that district grant for renovation of two schools is also undertaken by the club.  

“We are all here in rotary because we had a longing to have an impact to make a difference in our community to be part of something larger than ourselves,” she said while requesting the Rotarians of their cooperation and support to the new team to serve the community with a transformational impact.  

She said the theme of the new team is “Be the inspiration”. Agarwal in his speech said Rotary works to create lasting change that will endure long after our involvement has ended. “We have a responsibility to build on the work of those before us and build a solid foundation for those yet to come,” he said while encouraging the new team.  

Expressing that the greatest pleasure of life comes from serving and helping others and rotary provide us this rare opportunity, he asked them to ensure that rotary continues to grow and be useful to the world.  

Rotary doesn't ask of us the extraordinary neither does it ask us to be heroes, but it give us the chance of becoming something even better, he said. “We showed our support through care and affection while we are provided with an opportunity to be an inspiration to others,” he said while adding that “We need to start by being an inspiration to ourselves and to our families and then to our clubs and our district communities and country”.  

Immediate past president of RCK Tokishe Sema while conveying best wishes to the new team also assured to extend all possible support in the successful implementation of the club’s activities.  

Besides Arepla, the new team of RCK includes Rtn. Kezhokhoto Savi as vice president, Rtn. Richard Dzüvichü as secretary, Rtn Thiala Chang as joint secretary and Rtn Seyiekhrielie Rio as treasurer.
