RPF arrests gang of druggist from railway premises

Maligaon, November 26 (MExN): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of NF Railway on November 11 has arrested a gang allegedly involve in drugging of passengers.

 

It started with the arrest of one Sadek Ali (about 32 yrs) with 30 Nos ATIVAN 02 Mg tablets, one ATM Card and one mobile phone while checking at Kamakhya railway station against anti-social elements RPF personnel. The team was led by Inspector RPF Kamakhya Jayanta Das along with Sub Inspector JC Das, Sub-Inspector BK Yadav, Head Constable Suraj Saikia and Constable Surendra Singh Yadav of Kamakhya Post.

 

Pranav Jyoti Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer NFR a press release informed that during his interrogation, Ali confessed his involvement in drugging of passenger in trains. He further disclosed that one of his associates, Nur Hussain alias Sah Alam was planning to travel from Kamakhya railway station by train No. 55812 Dn and he was also supposed to join him.

 

As communicated by Sadek over mobile to Nur Hussain, RPF officers and staff traced his location at Jalukbari area (Guwahati) and the team managed to arrest the co-accused Nur, aged about 22 years and recovered 20 Ativan 02 MG Tablets wrapped with polythene and one mobile phone from his possession, the release said.

 

The arrested persons along with the recovered articles were handed over to Inspector GRP Kamakhya for appropriate action under law and a case has been registered, it added.
