RSU, RSZ decide to relax bandh

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 15 (MExN): The Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) and the Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) have relaxed the ongoing bandh within its jurisdiction “in goodwill and with hope in the wisdom of the government to deliver justice in its due time.” This decision was taken in a meeting called by the Rengma Hoho today.  

A press note from the RSU informed that the move to relax the bandh was made taking into consideration the appeals made by the Chief Minister TR Zeliang and the elected representatives of the Rengmas, Er Levi Rengma “to pave way for a congenial environment for the government to take a reasonable decision for creation of Tseminyu district and the progress made and anticipated in this regard.” “As such the two organizations under the guardianship of the Rengma Hoho has taken the bet to instill fresh confidence in the government’s dedication to its citizen’s welfare and rested its confidence in the government to deliver justice to the far overdue and genuine demand for Tseminyu district,” the RSU added. It however cautioned that further course of action would be taken based on the government’s response.
