RSZ observes 62nd Naga National flag hoisting day

Kohima, March 22 (MExN): Commemorating the 62nd Naga National flag hoisting day at Parashen, Tseminyu, the Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) held a gathering at Phentejon on March 22. The meeting was chaired by Kenneth Kath, President, RSZ.

A brief history of the situation back then was delivered by Benjamin Lorin where he made mention of the journeys and stays of A. Z. Phizo during his stay of hiding in Rengma soil till his departure to London for which a small prayer programme was done in Rumesinyu village. He also cited of the various atrocities meted out to Rengma's like burning of houses and granaries in Sendenyu and Phenshenyu and other Rengma villages.

It may be noted that Lathong Kemp and Keshenle Kent weaved the first Naga flag. Since then Parashen has remained a sacred place for all Nagas alike.
