RSZ, RSU bandh to resume today

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 12 (MExN): The Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) and the Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) today informed that they would resume the indefinite bandh under their jurisdiction starting 10:00am of January 13 till their demands for upgradation of Tseminyu to district status is fulfilled. It may be noted that the bandh had been temporarily suspended on January 5 “on humanitarian grounds.” “In spite of the patience and restrain exercised for a long time, and the sincere appeals made, the matter continues to be stalled,” a statement from the RSU said. The RSZ and RSU further cautioned that “unlike the earlier bandh which was done with restrain this time it will be enforced with greater magnitude and greater force for which the government is solely responsible.” “Relaxation will be restricted to a bare minimum with only ‘very emergency cases’ of ‘death and life’ matter to be entertained at the discretion of the enforcing authorities,” they said.
