Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): The Regional Transport Office, Kohima will be adopting Vahan 4.0 and Sarathi 4.0 – online applications for processing and issuing of vehicle registration certificate and driving license respectively – very shortly.
Informing this in a press release, Regional Transport Officer, Kohima said that the applications are being adopted for more efficient and speedy service delivery and total transparency.
With the applications, all processes for vehicle registration and issue of license will be done in real time basis. It also enables realization of all the taxes and fees with late fines.
According to the release, Government of India, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MORTH) through its Notification No. G. S. R. 1183(E) dated 29-12-2016 informed that a sum of Rs. 300 per month is imposed for every two-wheeler, Rs. 500 per month for non-transport vehicles, and Rs. 50 per day for transport vehicle as late fine after expiry of certificate of fitness.
In an effort to provide timely, quality, and speedy delivery of services, the RTO appealed to all the vehicle owners and holders of driving license to come and update the vehicle taxes, fees and validate driving license, trade certificate, road permits, etc. so as to avoid heavy fines and inconveniences before October 31, 2018.
The release further informed all the stakeholders to co-operate with the officials of the Transport department and promptly do the needful before the stipulated time.
