SAH supports demand for Tseminyu district

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 14 (MExN): The Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho (SAH) today expressed support to the demand for upgradation of Tseminyu to the status of a district.

A press note from the SAH viewed that the demand made is “based on best human logic and rationality which rightly deserve the positive attention of the government of the day.” It opined that “Rengma being one of the major tribes of Nagaland have made significant contribution in the field of social and political aspects which need due recognition. Fulfilling the long deserved need by granting the status of district to Tseminyu town will solve lots of administrative inconveniences face by Rengma people.”

It said that among the oldest sub-divisions under the set up of the Nagaland Government, which include Pughoboto, Tseminyu, Aboi, Kiphire, Longleng, Peren and Noklak, four sub-division have being upgraded to the status of district easing the pain of administrative inconveniences of its denizens, Noklak being the recent one.

“However the other three had being left out with no trace of progress in its upgradation,” the hoho lamented. It therefore appealed to the Nagaland State Government to listen to the voice of the people by speeding up the process of upgradation.
