Sakraba village hails sustainable devp progs

Phek, September 9 (MExN): Sakraba village has highlighted some of the successful sustainable development programmes undertaken under various schemes of Rural Development Department.  

DRDA, Phek knowing that large cardamom cultivation is the key economic avenue of the rural areas has effectively undertaken the said programme in Sakraba village, stated a press release from Kuhusheyi, VDB Secretary and Nerayi, Village Council Chairman of Sakraba. Stating that the large cardamom projects undertaken by the village farmers are doing well, the release said the projects have stabilised the economy of the poor village farmers to a great extent. They expressed gladness that the project is going to sustain the economy of the villagers.  

Further, it said DRDA, Phek also constructed a road connecting Sakraba EAC HQ and Chizami SDO HQ with just a distance of 8 km, thus reducing a distance of 32 km that the villagers took to reach Chizami. One of the major problems faced by the villagers and the Centre Chakhesang area was the distance (40 km) and time taken to reach Chizami, the release added.  

For all the sustainable programmes carried out in Sakraba by the DRDA, Phek, Sakraba village has thanked the DRDA, Phek and Rural Development Department.
