Peren, May 3 (MExN): The Samzuiram Village Council (SVC) has charged the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) Government in the state of meting out injustice to the village while alleging that the fund meant for improvement of link road to four village blocks has been diverted to some other village.
Making its disappointment known, the council in a press release stated that it had learned of the fund provided by the previous DAN government and released to the PWD (R&B) Department for improvement of Samzuiram village interlink road amounting to Rs. 3 crores under Special Road Development Program (SRDP) had been diverted to some other village.
The said project was the commitment of the previous government made in 2014 on the Memorandum submitted by Samzuiram Village Council for improvement of inter-connectivity of four village block, it explained.
Samzuiram village, it added, is considered as the biggest and largest village in Peren District. As such, the SVC questioned: “If such genuine project sanctioned is to be diverted to meet the interest of some leaders in the PDA hierarchy, what kind of future are we heading to?”
In this connection, the SVC urged upon the Governor to deliver justice by intervening on the matter “which has deprived the innocent villagers of the basic rights and necessities.”
