Sazolie College Parents-Teachers Forum meet

Kohima, April 18 (MExN): Sazolie College organized its Parents-Teachers Forum meeting on April 16 at the college auditorium.   Dr. Kangzangding Thou, Principal emphasized on the need for a concerted effort of all stakeholders in education to make it effective and fruitful. He highlighted the various activities undertaken by the college. He also briefed the parents about the preparations being undertaken by the college for assessment and accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, and requested for their help in the process.   He also formally launched the Parents-Teachers Forum (PTF) of the college, comprising of one faculty representative and four parents, namely: Dr Thanghoi, State Programme Officer, National Health Mission; Beizo Suokhrie, DFO, Kohima; Neizovonuo Visa, Deputy Director, RDB, Kohima and Pelevito Nakhro, retired government official.

  Speaking on behalf of the parents, D. Neli Koso, General Secretary, Mao Union, Kohima, Swedele Noswe, and Neizovonuo Visa, Deputy Director, RDB, Kohima expressed happiness on the positive role played by the college and teachers which has facilitated the growth of their children in all areas. Koso and Noswe lauded the initiative of the college to form the Parents-Teachers Forum which would benefit the students as a result, a press release received here said.   Visa appreciated the clean and serene ambience of the college which she thought was ideal for academic activities. She also praised the Tutorial System of the college which has aided the students to actively engage and participate in the learning process. The same opinion was shared by another parent who opined that students should be given the opportunity to express themselves while learning. He also dwelt on the importance of maintaining a good rapport between parents and teachers to help the students realize their full potentials, the release added.   The programme was chaired by Dr Puspanjoli D Nakhro, Academic Dean and Faculty Representative of the PTF.
