SBI donates 50 stretchers and wheelchairs

Mokokchung, March 12 (MExN): As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the State Bank of India NE Circle today donated fifty stretchers and wheelchairs to various hospitals and health centres under Mokokchung region.   The programme was initiated by the Regional Business Office of SBI Mokokchung, which covers at least six districts of the state.   According to a press release, a formal handing over ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) Mokokchung where NK Malviya, DGM SBI Administrative Office, Jorhat handed over the wheelchairs and stretchers. Beneficiaries of the CSR included District Hospital Zunheboto and Tuensang, IMDH, TB Hospital Mokokchung, Aghunato PHC and Mangkolemba PHC, representatives of which were all present today.

  Malviya while speaking at the function today said that through CSR, 2% of SBI’s profit is being utilized for “betterment of society by giving a helping hand.” He also added that SBI being more than 200 years old is ahead of others in providing banking facilities and opening branches in all corners to “fulfil the banking needs of the people in far flung areas.”   Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner Sushil Kumar Patel, Medical Superintendent of IMDH Dr. Medem and representatives of District Hospital Zunheboto and Tuensang as well as TB Hospital Mokokchung also spoke at the function.   Later, a MUDRA loan sanctioned letters distribution ceremony was held at the RBO Mokokchung Conference Hall. The distribution of sanctioned letters was initiated by RC Ghosh, Branch Manager of SME Mokokchung Branch in the presence of NK Malviya.
