SDEO, SDAO offices inaugurated in Pungro

PUNGRO, January 7 (MExN): Advisor for Evaluation, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Nagaland, T. Torechu, inaugurated the offices of Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) and Sub- Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) at Pungro town on January 4.  

Addressing the combined programme at Public Ground Pungro town, Torechu urged the departments to render their services with utmost sincerity, commitment and dedication in order to produce quality education as “education is an essential development” of human values.  

Torechu further encouraged the staffs and officials of SDAO Pungro and public to enhance ‘organic farming’ and use improvised seed methods to generate income.  

He further opined that the inaugural of SDEO and SDAO office was a fruit of development and good sign of the government performance, to promote socio – economic development of the region.   Torechu further expressed gratitude to the government and department for the new office and exuded confidence that the new offices would be beneficial for the needy peoples in the area.  

Also speaking on the occasion, SDEO Pungro, Limhathung Odyuo assured to responsibly discharge their duties for the welfare of the general public and in this connection, asked the people to cooperate with the department for the common good of society.  

Joint director Agriculture department L. Butang, said that, the government has been initiating a lot of developmental activities in the rural areas and asked the public to extend cooperation for the uplift of economy in the area.   The dedicatory prayer for SDEOs office was pronounced by Rev. Fr. Sajimon, Parish Priest, St. Paul Parish Pungro while Rikhum, Pastor Pungro Village Baptist Church dedicated the SDAOs office.  

Earlier, the combined programme was chaired by SDO (Civil) Pungro Samuel Thyug, while invocation was pronounced by pastor PTBC, K. Yimto. Welcome address was delivered by Hd. GB Pungro Musumong.  

Folk song was presented by officers’ ward while vote of thanks was proposed by president PFPSD Kiusumew. Benediction was offered by Pastor UPC Pungro Chipong. Other highlights of the programme were cultural dances by dancing troupe (men) Zanger village and dancing troupe (women) Shodangberü cultural troupe Pungro.
