Sechü-Zubza Youth Org wins U-21 football championship

Champion team Sechii-Zubza Youth Org along with chief guest Sh Sarbjit Singh DIG (OPS) CRPF Kohima and others after under-21 football final match on Friday at WAPO ground.

Kohima, January 18 (MExN): Sechü -Zubza Youth Org and Unified Sporting Club Kiruphema won under - 21 football and senior men volleyball championship title organised by 78th Bn CRPF in collaboration with Sechü -Zubza Football Club at WAPO ground in Kohima on January 18.


In the football game, Sechü -Zubza Youth Org defeated Darlins Club Khonoma in the final match by 4(2) - 2 (2) via tiebreaker to emerge as the winner.


In the volleyball final match, Unified Sporting Club Kiruphema beat Darlins Club Khonoma with the set of 3-1 win.


Sh. Surender Singh, Comdt 78 BN CRPF expressed immense pleasure and joy to organise the civic action program in WAPO ground at Sechii-Zubza Village.


The chief guest Sh Sarbjit Singh DIG (OPS) CRPF Kohima gave away prizes to the winners.


A press release from the 78 BN CRPF stated that Sarbjit Singh congratulated the winning teams and the participants.


Meanwhile, Thejasekho Sorhi bagged the Best Goalkeeper award; Menohiekho Nakhro was adjudged as the Best Player while Thejaseto Gwirie became the Highest Scorer in the football tournament.


In volleyball tournament, best wing spiker award went to Kevirielie while best setter and best player award went to Menosielie and Raja respectively.


Officers of 78th Bn such as Sh Surender Singh Rana Comdt 78 BN CRPF, Sh Ramchandra 2IC, Sh Anil Kumar Jha 2IC, Sh Shiva Prasad DC, Sh Hari Kumar DC, Sh Werilo Lasuh AC, Sh Dzüvishil Richa AC, Sh Goutam Sarkar AC ,DR Sudarshan Chetry MO were present. Altogether, eight teams from the three villages - Kiruphema, Jotsoma and Sechü- Zubza participated in both the games during the two-day tournament held at WAPO ground.


The two-day tournament was organised under civic action program to bridge the gap between public and security forces.
