Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): A seminar on career option after B.Tech was organized under the initiative of Impact Hub Society, Dimapur at National Institute of Technology (NIT), Chumukedima and SET respectively on September 12 and 13.
Irphan Ali, CEO of Engineers Zone, Delhi was the resource person. He underscored various career prospects after completion of B.Tech, informed a press release received here.
He classified career option into three categories- job, higher education and entrepreneurship. He further classified job into 3 categories, namely government, public service undertakings and private. Under government job, 100 % share is of the government such as ISRO, DRDO, and UPSC etc. Under Public service undertaking it is a partial share between the government and the private sector.
Lastly, under private sector companies 0% share is of the government. He said that according to GATE score, in almost all the three sectors, the chances of getting a job will be determined
“As per the proposal put up by the AICTE to the HRD, the Department is likely to consider making it mandatory to clear GATE exam for every engineering student to get a job in government sector. Therefore it is very important that young minds have a clear understanding about the concept and dynamics of such exam,” the resource person added.
Irphan Ali also informed that Engineers Zone for PSU, GATE, IES has opened up its branch in Dimapur near SBI main branch. Students in Nagaland can now attend the same class going on in Delhi, attempt the same class test, mock test, assignment, have access to same National study Material, coach by the best Mentor through V-Sat Class, he added.
