Seminar on community empowerment held in Tuensang

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 17 (MExN): Tuensang Police, KVK, Administration, DAPCU & TDFA conducted two days seminar on “community empowerment through intergrated approach” at Community Hall, Panso town from November 13 to 14. 


A press release from SP Tuensang stated that Chairperson, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, IPS, SDPO Tuensang enlightened participants on the seminar. She also emphasized on quality education, hard work and perseverance and career options. 


Kevethito Rose, EAC Tuensang deliberated on the Arms Act, License and youth empowerment.  Chongshen, DAPCU emphasized on awareness on HIV/AIDS, drug menace and OST treatment and followed by test for HIV/AIDS. Lisepi Sangtam, representative of Tuensang District Football Association (TDFA), also encouraged the youths to take up sports as a profession. 


Dr. Shisarenla Aier, specialist (horticulture), KVK Tuensang emphasized on technical session on scientific cultivation practices on enhancing the income of farmers. She also elucidated on the transformation in agriculture in the recent years due to introduction of new improved technologies and how farmers have been playing a pivotal role in agriculture being the backbone of the country.


On the second day, a visit to three government schools and a private school was also carried out where two new computers were installed at GHS and GPS and set up ofscience roomwas done in all four schools. Altogether 250 participants attended the seminar including students, farmers along with the officials from Tuensang Police, KVK Tuensang, Administration, DAPCU and TDFA, the release stated.
