Seminar on digital payment held at Kiphire

More than 500 students and faculties attended the seminar on digital payment and uses of smart phones at Government Higher Secondary School campus held on September 13. Organised by the National Informatics Centre the seminar was held with Er Deepak Kumar, District Informatics Officer as the resource person.  

The participants included students from different schools in Kiphire including Government Higher Secondary School, Government High School, El Beth High School, Cambridge High School and Saramati View Modern School.  

The resource person said, “The digital payment will save the country's economy because if we use digital payment and shop via digital modes, the cost to print currency notes will be saved so we can contribute to the growth of the economy” and asked the students to go for digital payments.  

He also shared about the advantages of digital payments and also explained in details the different ways of using digital payments like Bank Cards, USSD (*99#),BHIM app etc.  

Speaking on the uses of smart phones, the resource person said, “Everyone should use smart phones with a condition, to use it judiciously.” He warned the students not to play games in their free time rather they can use subject and news related applications which will help them to enrich their knowledge  

Sharing his own experiences, the resource person also asked the students to maintain reading habit if they want to excel in studies and life as well. “There is no substitute to hard work and advised the students to give their best if they want to be successful in life,” he added.
