Wokha, September 9 (DIPR): A seminar on energy conservation and power saving was held at LBES, Vankhosung Mission Centre, Wokha on September 7. The programme through the initiatives of the Energy Efficient Retrofits was organized by state designated agency NSDA, under Electrical Inspectorate, Nagaland.
Chief Electrical Inspector, IV Chishi maintained that energy is now decreasing and expressed concern of coming to a point when mankind may see non availability of energy as a reality due to excess exploitation of non-renewable traditional energy resources. To avoid the same, conservation of both renewable and non-renewable sources of energy is the urgent need of the day, he added.
He cautioned that CFL bulbs which is likely to be replaced by LED bulbs in the near future should be buried once it is damaged, instead of discarding it in the open, adding that the emission of mercury from them cause health hazards.
