Piggery farmers from Mokokchung district attended seminar on commercial piggery farming at Symbiotic Foods Pvt. Ltd.,Tezpur Assam.
Mokokchung, September 18 (MExN): A three-day seminar on commercial piggery farming was held at Symbiotic Foods Pvt. Ltd.,Tezpur Assam from September 13 to 15. The seminar was organised by the Chief Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Office, Mokokchung and sponsored by Kohima Ao Officertem Telongjem (KAOT) on the theme ‘Survival Mokokchung.’
It was stated in a press release that a total of 13 piggery farmers from Mokokchung district accompanied by Dr Nemjemyanger and Dr Toshiwati attended the seminar. The farmers learnt different aspects of commercial piggery farming like value chain where they learnt the importance of developing an efficient value chain to develop the piggery sector into an industry. They were also taught about the piggery market, housing, breeding and fattening of pigs, feeds, bio-security and animal health.
On day-three, the team visited the pig farm and food processing unit of Symbiotic Foods Pvt Ltd.
