Several resolutions passed during CBCC general council meeting

Phek, January 22 (MExN): The 68th General Council meeting of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council was held at Thenyizu Baptist Church from January 18-20.


In line with the theme “The Truth will set you Free,” the General Council adopted several resolutions. Among others, the council, in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, resolved to reaffirm its commitment to ensure clean Election in the state as per the directives of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council and the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement
Also reaffirming commitment to the finished works of Jesus Christ, the Council resolved to be more “dedicated and equipped in liberating the people from all kinds of sin’s bondages.”


The council further appealed all believers not to engage in any secular activities or programmes on Sundays.


In order to address the issues and challenges of certain heresies and false prophecies in the church, the Council resolved to urge and admonish all believers not to be swayed by such things but be guided by the Scriptures and remain firmly rooted in the Word of God and live out the truth of the Gospel in our daily lives.


During this meeting, Chakhesang Bethel Baptist Church, Chümoukedima was also officially recognised as full –fledged church under CBCC.


Meanwhile, Rev Khrotso Mero, Senior Pastor Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK) took charge of Executive Secretary from Rev Dr Vezopa Tetseo who completed 10 years of service in the Council.


Altogether 519 official delegates representing 100 churches and one fellowship under CBCC churches attended the meeting.


The 69th CBCC General Council will be hosted by Leshemi Baptist Church in 2020.
