Shokhuvi village gate inaugurated

Shokhuvi village, one of the prominent villages in Aqahuto area under Dimapur district, on Friday inaugurated its village gate (Khagho) with Secretary, Land Resources, Y. Kikheto Sema IAS as the chief guest.  

In his speech, Kikheto emphasized on the huge significance of a gate as it is a point of entrance and exit of a village. “Normally we write ‘welcome’ on a gate and that welcome word should be exhibited in mannerisms by the inhabitants of the village to outsiders who visit,” he said. He said Shokhuvi Village was a thoroughfare for many people especially the Zeliang community and appealed the villagers to let any outsiders pass through the village comfortably and peacefully. “We Nagas cannot separate each other as we are inter-related and we should live in harmonious unity,” Kikheto added.  

Rev. Dr. Khehovi Shohe, Director, Sumi Baptist Convention said the dedicatory prayer for the village gate.  

Head GB, Shokhuvi village, Ghotovi Zhimomi extended gratitude to the chief guest for extending support to the village and gracing the occasion. Western Sumi Hoho, President, Zheshito Swu, President, Sumi Officers’ Union Dimapur, Er. Ghukhuyi Zhimomi and a host of officers and public leaders attended the programme.
