SKK seeks clarification from Minister H&TE

Dimapur, June 6 (MExN): The All Sumi Students Union (SKK) claimed that Minister of Higher & Technical Education (H&TE) Imna Along Temjen allegedly tried to convey to ANCSU that unless “ANCSU re-consider its approaches on the Scholarship issue, the long pending issue of Up-gradation of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) may be hampered.”

A press release issued by Atokiho Sumi and Hutoshe Kits, President and General Secretary SKK mentioned that “the leadership of ANCSU had been constantly being intimidated through phone and otherwise by his henchmen.” In this connection, the SKK has sought clarification from the Minister if the Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu and ANCSU belong to Sumi tribe alone; if ANCSU raised the issue of up-gradation of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu to professional engineering college of which the cabinet has already made its decision way back in 2007; the rationale in clubbing together the two issues and if the minister trying to polarise the issues raised on tribal line?

Maintaining that the attitude is “most unbecoming of a Cabinet Minister in the present dispensation of the Government of Nagaland”, the statement added “Unless the people are satisfied on the clarification sought, the honorable minister shall be held responsible on any negative effects that may arise on the issues concerned.”
