SNUNS joins campaign for Eastern Nagas in Myanmar

Dimapur, September 23 (MExN): South Nagas Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) at its emergency meeting held on September 23 took stock of the famine situation of the Eastern Nagas in Myanmar and decided to join the solidarity campaign. Apart from joining the present temporary relief campaign, SNUNS has set a vision of adopting and sponsoring few students from the poorest Eastern Naga Myanmar villages in the future, stated a press release from the union.

In the same meeting held at the conference hall of People in Need Foundation (PNF), Bank Colony, Dimapur, the SNUNS members expressed strong condemnation for September 16 incident of assassination attempt on the life of L. Doulo, owner of Kuda Cold Storage by some people and the September 21 attack on a family of three, including a minor, at Chumukedima by a group of people. “Such acts have no place in a peaceful Naga society,” said SNUNS members.
